Sassi Keshet is well known in Israel for his variety of activities as a singer, actor and dancer;

being a star of dozens of performances, films and television shows.
He won many awards and took the lead part in many musicals, including: "Les Miserables",
"Chicago", "Guys and Dolls", "The Sound of Music" and many more.
This album takes us on a journey to the past of Sassi's personal life, back to the chants, prayers
and songs of his youth. The desire to record these songs awoke in the year 2005 while he was
performing in the Yiddishpiel Theater as "The Cantor of Vilna" - a true story based on the life of
Joel David, a cantor turned opera singer. "I loved the prayers sung in the show so much that I
started gathering materials for the album", says Sassi. In this album, Sassi Keshet performs the
most moving prayers, ranging through Rosh Hashana, Yom Kippur and the Sabbath, to Psalms
and chants from the Jewish tradition, in a unique, emotional and captivating way.

Sassie Keshet est connu du public israélien comme chanteur, comédien et danseur. Il a collaboré
à de très nombreux films et pièces de théâtre. Il a par ailleurs tenu des rôles de premier plan

dans des comédies musicales classiques: "Les misérables", " Joseph et la tunique à rayures",
"Chicago", "Des garçons et des filles" ou "Sound of Music".
Avec son nouvel album, il révèle une dimension personnelle, et dévoile ce que furent les prières
et les poèmes liturgiques qui ont bercé son enfance. "L'envie d'enregistrer ces choses-là s'est
imposée à moi en 2005, lorsque j'incarnai le célèbre Chantre de Vilna dans une pièce de théâtre
yiddish ; j'ai été si fortement impressionné par ces prières que j'y ai chantées que l'idée d'en faire
un album est venue naturellement".
Le travail de Sassie Keshet consiste en une compilation de prières et poèmes issus de la tradition
hébraïque - et récités lors des célébrations du Kippour ou du Shabbat - qu'il réinterprète en les
enrichissant d'arrangements originaux.
